1. Of the likely possibilities, I'd prefer Johnson; but I think it will be Miliband. |

Every time I see Alan Johnson I immediately think of John Ashcroft (they look so similar). When I first moved here I was so confused as to why John Ashcroft was getting the news here before realising it was a different person.

I've lost count in how I've confused John Ashcroft and Alan Johnson. I did a test on my husband to see if he could pick out Alan Johnson and he picked John Ashcroft! And he's lived here longer than me!

6. Ignorant American here, I recognize all the people mentioned except "Hatty Harperson" |
|
Is that intended to be Hazel Blears?

7. Either Darling or Johnson although I think Miliband is the future of the party. |
|
People don't like Miliband but he's Labour's next Blair once they come up with some new ideas or the tories mess things up.

17. To which woman are you referring? |
|
I cannot see any credible women candidates for the job myself.
My own personal preference would be John Cruddas but it's more likely to be Jack Straw or David Miliband.

18. I think Harriet Harman has as much credibility as Jack Straw |
|
In theory, if Labour end up using their "emergency replacement of the leader" rule, she has the best claim for being the 'caretaker', being Deputy Leader (hey, the Labour party voted her in, but they didn't actually vote for Brown - it was just that no-one stood against him). I agree she's unlikely to win a party election for leader, but I'd say Straw isn't likely to either.
