Whadda we make of this, sports fans?

I know it's Silly Season/ Tory Government (delete where inapplicable) time again, but this seems to be a bit of a non-story, even by right-wing press standards.

What are they up to, then?

Best answer wins a free trip to Thailand and a year's supply of batteries for your vibrator.

1. Well why shouldn't this happen?
Disabled people have needs and desires too, why should they not be helped to satisfy them?

2. Perhaps the nastiest aspect of the Torygraph, against lots of competition...
is their sheer hatred for disabled people.

Give any help to a disabled person, and the next thing, they'll be using your hard-earned money to see a prostitute!

Much better to pre-empt it all by kicking every disabled person you see in the street.

3. Look on the bright side
Most people are disabled through accident or illness not birth (strokes being the biggest cause of long term disability in UK). This means that some of the scum bags who write for or read the Daily Telegraph (particularly those whose blood pressure sky rockets at the very idea of benefit claimants) can look forward to trying some of this medicine themselves before their lives are over.

4. Well, a few years ago there was a Radio 4 series on disability issues..
and one of the contributors was Rush Limbaugh (yes, really). He had suffered from a condition which caused severe deafness and which was eventually treated successfully by a cochlear implant.

What struck me was that even his personal experiences had clearly given him no sympathy or understanding for people with disabilities in general, or those who depend on modern medical research in particular. It was OK for HIM to benefit from a cochlear implant, but people like Michael J. Fox who could possibly benefit from stem cell research still deserved to be mocked for their medical needs!

So whatever happens to a right-winger they still seem not to learn any lessons, and to think that THEY are the only deserving ones!
