Hi All,

Hope you'll forgive the plug but this is something I've been working on for a couple of months now and I thought that some here might be interested. There are now 400+ members from all over the world.

"Earthlings United is a group of activists, writers, artists, musicians and concerned citizens from around the world dedicated to working cooperatively for the principles of peaceful self-determination, environmental protection, human rights, social and economic justice for all people in all nations. "

I believe that the people of this planet, the vast majority of whom want only to live their lives in peace and build a brighter future for their children must, at the very least, begin having a conversation about how we can help each other to get there.
I think perhaps that this is truly an idea that's time has come the world had pulled together impressively in the days since the earthquake and tsunami's hit south
east Asia - raising over 2 billion dollars in aid and that effort is still growing by the hour. There has been a trend in this direction lately - the world pulled together around the United States after 9/11 then when the aftermath of 9/11 turned in a shocking new direction (the invasion of Iraq), 11 million people took to the streets in 133 cities around the world on February 15, 2003. Maybe the world is finally beginning to realize that we all, all 6 billion of us, are on the same small, fragile boat and that fighting each other, competing against each other is liable to be our undoing and technology has finally presented us with an opportunity to communicate and work together even if our respective governments aren't on board.

I am trying to, at a minimum get membership in this group to a point where it begins to grow under it's own momentum. I hope that you will consider joining - if only to lend your name to the effort, and pass this information along to others you know who might be interested.
