The link to the J-post returns nothing, and I wandered around the site looking for it without success. There does not seem to be any mention in the local papers as of yet, and I would not like to comment at this point without seeing the full article in question, because it could rapidly degenerate into the typical over emotional, name calling mess as is typical in the Is/Pal forums.

The snippets provided mention Gardner - this is probably Dr Paul Gardner, chairman of the Jewish Anti-Defamation League. This group has been involved with federal politics before, thus my desire for more information.

Ah, seems the fighting and name calling has already begun on the main forum. Forget it. No point in even trying to understand the situation and discuss it as people start screeching like howler monkeys at the drop of a hat.

Thanks for bringing it to my attention however, I'll keep an eye out in the news for my own interest.

there will always be some idiots who hate everyone slightly different to them but in the main our rednecks havn't really ever focused on the Jewish community which is relatively small. Indigenous Australians, Asians, people from the Middle East and Africa are far more visible and therefore the rednecks (who generally aren't too bright) will continue to concentrate on them

4. There has always been some anti-Jewish activity in Australia.

The occasional graffiti on a synagogue for example, but the focus of
the current crop of right-wingnts is Muslim - possibly because they
know there is some concern in the community. Turning on Jews would
not gain any sympathy in the general population though, so I doubt
they'd bother.
