Why is Tony Abbott given an almost weekly column in the SMH |
|
To flaunt the government's propaganda and to spout mindless drivel without an equal opportunity being given to a Labor Shadow Minister and perhaps even someone from the Democrats/Greens? I've read his latest column today (Wed 2/08/06) and it infuriates me that the SMH is giving him a column and not giving someone like Kevin Rudd, Lynn Alison or Bob Brown the opportunity to put the case for Labor and the minor parties. At least when the Age did this, they had Michael Wooldridge arguing the case for the government and a retired minister whose name escapes me putting the case for Labor. Even the Daily Telegraph got Mark Latham to write columns representing Labor's point of view. I'm disappointed in the SMH - I would have thought it would have more respect for balance and objectivity.

1. Heh...a media source being biased in favour of the coalition? |
|
Who would've ever imagined that happening?

2. I agree - and there have been letters of complaint about |

printed in the paper.
Pollies have a public forum already - Parliament. That's enough. We shouldn't have to read their biased drivel in the paper as well.
