Good Luck to our Australian friends
I've got my fingers crossed for Kevin Rudd.

Memo to Kevin Rudd: Smack down that little jumped-up neo-Fascist bastard John Howard!!!!

Memo to our Australian friends: I send you good vibes for Kevin Rudd to be your next Prime Minister.

1. Looking good now mate
Just as well, as I've been chain smoking since the booths closed. Now I'm savouring the right-wingers attempting to be gracious in defeat. It's bloody lovely!

3. Heck
I've been so excited the past 30 minutes....my heads gone into a spin!

Will the Right-Winger's be gracious in defeat, or will they do what they normally do, whine and blame everyone but themselves?

6. Thank you. It looks as though the finger crossing thing worked.
It will be good to be proud of our country again.

7. It looks like it most definately worked...
btw, was there anyone else watching it on the ABC who saw the bit where Kerry O'Brien was talking about Bennelong and said there was a 5.something% swing to the ABC? That was one of the funniest moments of the night imo...

9. Yes, that was funny.
And probably would have had repercussions if the little runt had got
back in.

10. That was funny, Kerry was put off by the Chaser team in the crowd
making them noisy.
Chaser on Wednesday should be good.

8. My sentiments exactly.
From the day we helped the U.S. invade Iraq, I've felt ashamed of my
country.

Now I hope I can hold my head up again.

11. Yes, we will now move back to "progressive mode".
Remember that politics is the art of the possible.
I notice that here on DU an inordinate number of people
think that huge change is possible with the stroke of a pen.
Any change is going to suffer from inertia.
I still feel for Gough, who was forced into too much change too fast.
This was caused by 23 years of conservative rule.
Today we start rebuilding the "social capital". I look forward to the day when
accountants can measure this most valuable commodity.

I could ramble for a while, but I won't.
Cheers and well done.

12. I thought of Gough last night,
and felt happy that he's seen Labor returned. He's 90 now, and in a
wheelchair, but I'm so glad that he's still around to see such a decisive
victory by Rudd & Labor.
