1. It's noted on the voter list at the precinct |
|
if you had a ballot mailed to you, you must vote provisionally if you show up at the polls

The absentee ballot still sealed is sent to the precinct where the voter lives. At the end of the day the election judges open the ballot mark it off on the registration book and then feed the ballot into the voting machine. If the voter has already signed the register meaning they showed up in person the absentee ballot is not counted.

3. In LA County, the poll book indicates whether or not you were mailed an |
|
absentee ballot. If you want to vote in the polls on election day, you must bring your absentee ballot and surrender it and then you will be issued a regular ballot.

5. At the last primary I filled out and turned in my absentee ballot |
|
at the poll. They didn't give me a different ballot. They just marked in the book that I had turned it in.

8. That's an option as well, however LA County has in the past left absentee |
|
ballots out of the mandatory 1% manual tally (which is contrary to the intent of the Election Code since all absentee ballots come from specific precincts and should be included with the precinct totals); also your ballot will be subjected to Diebold signature checking software which does not have to undergo certification the way other voting equipment does. That's why I recommend voting at the polls on a regular ballot on election day in LA County.

4. In Ohio the register is marked 'Absentee' at the polling table. |
|
The voter must go in person, to the Board of Elections on Election Day to resolve any problems.

The people who recieved absentee ballots are marked as such in the poll book at each polling place (by the presiding judge from a list given to them by the board of elections). I just had my training yesterday and was told if someone comes in and claims that they did apply for an absentee ballot but did not fill it out that they are allowed to vote provisional ballot and it will be checked out at the board of elections and they will determine if that is a valid ballot (ie. the voter actually did not vote using their absentee ballot). Of course the provisional votes are not counted until after the election so hope not too many people do this. We want your votes in on election day.
