autorank: AP Poll - Setup for a Stolen Election?
AP Poll - Setup for a Stolen Election?
by Michael Collins | October 24, 2008 - 8:12am

Michael Collins

The Associated press came out with a remarkable poll Thursday. It claimed that the presidential race had tightened from the consistent leads Obama has shown over the past weeks to become one of those "too close to call" national elections. Their poll, conducted by German polling firm GfK, showed 44% for Obama and 43% for McCain.

How could this be? In the Real Clear Politics average of major national polls, Oct 24, Obama's average lead is 7.5%. The four national polls conducted on the same days as the AP poll show an average 9.2% Obama lead. The polls after the AP "tightening" effort shows an 8.7% Obama lead. Clearly the AP-GfK poll is an exception or outlier, as those are called.

Yet the AP presents this as news, not opinion.

What is AP Up To?

AP acknowledges that its poll is different from the other national polls but claims it's not "alone." It isn't. There is exactly one other poll that agrees with AP out of 16 presented on the Real Clear Politics summary for Oct. 24.

1. It's an outlier just like CBS and ABC
throw these out and average the rest.

4. They do this with the college football rankings as well
It's all about selling papers. They try to take down the clear leader to give the illusion of a close race. I have People PC, and the home page has AP headlines. They typically include Obama/Biden gaffes, McCain's "new" policies, and the few tidbits of good economic news to be found.

I can't be sure of this, but I heard that 50% of the respondents in the AP poll described themselves as evangelicals. I take it with a mine of salt.

7. Yes, sometimes I think that the only reason we even hold elections is how much

Audience participation that the networks get during the Primary and election seasons.

Some guy called C Span about six months ago and stated that there is so little difference between the two Big Money Parties that maybe we should forget about elections, and Brian Lamb hustled to get him off the air like the caller'd said that Brian's Mom was so fat her house had broken in two.

The difference between the football game rankings and this issue, though, is that the sports stadium scoreboards are not hackable - and the voting technology we are forced to use is.

Plus if someone did hack the score, by the end of the game, the fans who saw the winning team lose would storm the field and tear the referrees apart.

In America, should we decide to storm the field, we would be facing the new anti-mob technology - one piece of which is an armored vehicle that can shoot like 500,000 bullets a minute.

5. Kicked and Recommended!
They have to have at least a couple of polls to back up the massive election theft they are planning.
They had to go pretty far afield to find them. Never heard of GfK before yesterday.

8. They want a close race so it can be stolen by the GOP
it doesn't hurt viewer ratings either. An obvious rout and folks will just go to bed.

The Better Business Bureau loves it because people will stay up late at clubs to watch the count if the think it's going to be close. It's a lot of money.

13. It is their effort to shape perception. I don't think it is close at all
and certainly not as close as they are making it out to be.

That's also a big part of the mix. Thank you for pointing out my omission.

They have to form the public perception in order to steal it and sow the seeds of doubt should anyone contest their 'win.'

12. Motivation
Their employ, contracts with newspapers and general bent are all hardcore GOP. Unlike the rest of the MSM, sensationalism of sustaining the horse race can't be a big motive. They supply articles regardless of viewership boosts. Telling GOP papers or big owners what they need to hear is a more likely general motivation.

ALL the fraud is still in inertial progress and stubborn play, regardless of its decline and failure. This is the GOP regular campaign machinery and will stop no more than the core Democratic machinery stops, being as it is entitled by the abuse of entrenched power with no accountability. Stripped bare of a popular politicking strategy they can no longer sustain as a legitimate path to victory, the crap, exposed and rotten, marches on. Disgust and caution, more than fear, should be our reaction to its persistence. A prudent disappearance were they even to think it necessary and crafty is simply not possible, so far beyond the pale have they traveled.

Burnam Wood comes to Dunsiname. AP witches' propped MaCain raves on the walls, growing ever more alone but determined to kill.
