ISBN Numbers
So, I have a SQL DB of all my books but when I entered them I did not enter the ISBN numbers. I have 850 or so entries.

Now I need those ISBN numbers. Anyone know of a tool or search tool where I could upload the titles, publisher, copyright (just about any info except the ISBN) and grab the ISBN numbers?

1. Yahoo
regular search works for UPCs. It might also work for ISBNs.

2. But that would be one at a time wouldn't it?
is there a way to upload a csv or something with all the 850 books and get back a list of ISBNs?

5. How many books are we talking about here?

Just for curiosity's sake, and for the sake of influencing the starting point...

on edit: I just found this site, which seems at least potentially useful.

7. Hmm. Let me think about it.
Do you have access to a college or university library? Maybe they have something that might help.

8. I'm not sure about this, but. . .
I thought that ISBN numbers are specific to a particular version of a book, e.g., the paperback version is not the same as the hardback, and different releases of each would have different ISBN numbers. I've not confirmed this, but I suppose it's easy enough in the bookstore. If that's the case, then you have one heck of a chore ahead of you.

9. It's certainly true that hard cover vs trade paper vs paperbacks all have different ISBNs
I'm not sure about different editions of the same book, however.

10. The same title can have numerous ISBN numbers.
Hardcover, soft cover, different edition...

Are the numbers not on the books themselves?
