Anyone read "On the Road: The Original Scroll," the 2007 release of the Kerouac classic? |

I am finishing On the Road for the umpteenth time and I'm thinking about tackling the "slightly edited" version of the original Kerouac manuscript (that was putatively type-written on a 120' scroll of paper). Anybody read it yet?

I've always said that the quintessential (beat-genre) road trip is a state of mind, facilitated by a car or bus, a hike, a plane, or maybe just some "tea." I can't put the rubber to the road, as I did two weeks ago on a 3000+ miler, without thinking that Kerouac, Cassady, Ginsburg, Kesey, et. al., might have highballed the same roads. The big difference is that I have paced myself and have good health at 60. Too bad most of them did not.
