Anyone else read the Land of Painted Caves?
I enjoyed the Clan of the Cave Bears and have ended up reading the entire series over the years. I bought this book without reading the reviews because I wanted to see how the story ended. The book is very, very badly written. It needs a good edit which removes about 200 pages. The same concepts, almost the same paragraphs are repeated over and over again. I'm surprised it wasn't better edited.

I still find parts of the story enjoyable but the uniqueness of the original book is gone. This is now just a poorly written romance book.

I'm curious what others think about it.

1. It's been years since I read
clan of the cave bear. From what I've heard about this one I'm not going to miss much if I give it a pass. The reviews have been brutal.

3. I started reading the Clan
of the Cave Bears around the time it came out, and I found it so laughably bad that I didn't get more than about a quarter into it. Poorly written, unbelievable characters, and a plot that just made no sense.

Obviously, a lot of people don't agree with that opinion.

4. I read them all years ago
and used to wait for the next one, but I think I'm not as interested this time. Given the fact that I have very little time to read these days, I'll probably give it a pass.

However, I have been waiting for a new one by Margaret George, and your thread reminded me to look and sure enough:

This lady never disappoints. I love her books and have re-read all of them.

:hi:

5. I love the prehistoric setting and thinking about how early
humans lived at that time but I don't like her writing.
