2. My twitter feed is going nuts
I can't keep up.

Between that and C-SPAN I can't get anything else done. I have headphones on to listen to my audiobook but I haven't turned it on in a while.

3. Nope.
Finished a book this morning, I've been doing chores, getting ready for lunch and more chores, and will begin a new book this afternoon. It's peaceful, quiet, and Congress, the tv, the radio...none of them are going on in my house today.

I'll check in with Congress to see what they've managed to bungle at the end of the day.

4. Am worried about cuts..
I know they won't default, but what will they give up - cuts in SS or Medicare coverage? Be a real problem if they do...

Will try to get into a book later tonight - they keep me sane (or at least a little more sane)

5. I'm worried, too...
my mom depends on SS. I don't think my worry or stress is likely to affect the situation, though, and I've already told my Congresspeople what I think.

The setting of the book I just started is the early 70s; a whole different world, and it helps. I do some chores, take a break, do some chores...no rush. Eventually I'll look to see how the day played out.

6. A nagging feeling that it's....
the beginning of the end - of what, I don't know - the country, everything as we know it - I just don't know...

Gonna go see if I can find a good book to read about happy stuff...it'll HAVE to be fiction.

7. No. I react to e-mails that ask for some action.
I won't watch TV or listen to the radio so that a bunch of talking heads can repeat what they've been saying for the last month or so. I'm probably reading a little bit more than usual right now.

8. I've sent emails to my idiot congresswoman
Candice Miller. Complained that she should be doing something to get some jobs for our area and reminded her how many seniors in our area need SS, and unemployed need food stamps and assistance, etc., hate that woman.

9. Oh me, Standard and Poor now....
I was fed up with the kind of dismal books I was reading - no humour - so I ordered a bunch from the library yesterday and hope they'll be ready soon.

After I had done that, news came on about our Triple A going to a Double+. This is absolutely no time for me to read anythihg serious. History is in the making almost every day. Wonder who is going to write the history school books. Quite a difference in cause and blame between the right and left and the crazy Tea party.

31 troops killed in Afghanistan...just heard...disheartening..
