Just finished "Hard Truth" by Nevada Barr. |

An Anna Pigeon mystery.
I didn't like this one. I've read most of the Anna Pigeon mysteries, and enjoyed them. This one reminded me of SILENCE OF THE LAMBS, which I haven't read or seen, but heard about. In other words, it had some real crazies in it.
I didn't care for it. When I finished it, I thought, "Am I going to be able to read just Jan Karon's Mitford books, without it bothering me?" Checking on the Amazon reader reviews, I found that I wasn't alone.

1. I've started 2 or 3 Nevada Barr books |

& don't think I've finished any. Somehow they seem too thin to sustain me. I think her characters are somewhat cardboardy & her prose just doesn't flow for me.

I've read 3 of them and enjoyed all of them. Really liked "Blind Descent" about the caves. I always feel I am learning something about our wilderness regions reading her books. I have 3 more on my bookshelf. Probably will read them in the summer.
