Just started it and it's pretty amazing. A hard look at investigative journalism and how the big media has all but stopped it. This is from the journalists themselves..thier perspective and stories.
Has anyone else read it?

and it's sobering. Most, if not all, of the contributers have essentially been blacklisted. Blacklisted for wanting to tell the truth.

... and the politics of news gathering is very much apparent throughout. It's one of the reasons why the wealthy to the left of the Republican right wing need to start putting their money into a new and effective non-profit news network, instead of campaigns and favorite causes--right now, given the political divide in the country, that money is mostly wasted.
The Repugs are succeeding now because they've got control of the news. Take away that monopoly, and their control over the public mind diminishes. After all, they can't run on the facts of their administration. :)

One of the best books I've ever read. Much of it was so shocking that I found it hard to believe, and yet it was very well written and documented -- and I did believe it.
And it raised a lot more questions for me than it answered. In particular, it was never quite clear to me why so many in the news media make such a concerted effort to cover up things.
