So Wrong for So Long: How The Press, the Pundits -- and the President -- Failed on Iraq
A unique look at media coverage of the Iraq war, from 2002 to the present, written by E&P's editor, Greg Mitchell, will be published in March. Called "So Wrong for So Long: How The Press, the Pundits -- and the President -- Failed on Iraq," it features a preface by Bruce Springsteen and a foreword by Joseph L. Galloway, the legendary war reporter and co-author of"We Were Soldiers Once...and Young." The book can be ordered at Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com now.

Mitchell calls the book, which collects and significantly expands on about 80 of his columns which first appeared here at E&P Online, the first true history of the entire war, from the "runup" to the "surge" debate in recent months.

The pieces appear chronologically, with material between each column explaining what was transpiring in the war and in the media coverage during that period. In this way it offers a running commentary on the conflict in Iraq and within the media during a five year era. So readers can follow the controversies surrounding Judith Miller, Pat Tillman, Donald Rumsfeld, "Scooter" Libby and even Stephen Colbert, among many others, from beginning to end.

1. Iraq
Iraq doesn't matter as I understand McCain will pull back dramatically if not all the way all three canidates have stated that. Who voted for what is getting old. It's starting to sound like a broken record.

2. The Press, the Pundits and the President did not fail
on Iraq. That is bullshit. The sock puppet and his brain played their parts brilliantly. With Iraq, (and Afghanistan) they built an immense pipeline for public funds funneled to the military/industrial complex. The Press and the Pundits are the pimps who played their role to the hilt. This was and is the neo-con agenda and it ain't over yet...not by a damn sight.
