Books About Post World War II Germany and Europe |
|
Can anyone give me any suggestions about books that discuss Post World War II Germany and Europe? I am looking for books that discuss their economies and how they were created. I am also interested in how the Marshall Plan may have contributed to the creation of their economies. I have already come across the following books, but I was looking for additional books.
1) The Most Noble Adventure: The Marshall Plan and How America Helped Save Europe
2) Winning the Peace: The Marshall Plan and America's Coming of Age As a Superpower

A history of Europe since 1945.
Published a few years ago. Author died about a year after publication.
He doesn't spend a tremendous amount of time on the immediate postwar period, but goes on to discuss how life in Europe since then has dramatically diverged from life in the US.
