4.0 out of 5 stars A Must Read for Evangelicals

I wish more Evangelicals were open to reading Frank Schaeffer's latest books, because they provide us with such a clear understanding of recent church history, and what happened to the influence we assumed we would have in the present time.

I wonder if the titles throw people off, but I'd encourage you to get beyond them, buy the books and read...

2. Thanks!
Having grown up in a fundamentalist household, that looks like a book I'll enjoy-- way more than cleaning out the garage which is what I really need to do this weekend. :P

(The Nook just makes it too dang easy to get new books)

3. Saw an interview with him on Democracy Now. Amazing. He said the RW was 'Anti American' because...
...they come from a place that fundamentally sees the country as horrible and corrupted.

Their whole goal is to change the country.
To fix this thing that they see as broken.
This thing they do not like!

So why are they the ones that always *claim* to love America more?
The 'real Americans'?

Plus, he really has the inside scoop.
His mom knew Barbara Bush (I think) and etc etc etc.
Anyways, really blew my mind that one.

It's at the end of this interview:

He also did a thing on Free Speech Television with Laura Flanders.

4. I wonder how many evangelicals read his work?
I'm glad he's speaking up and writing because he has such a unique perspective (from the inside) on the way religion and politics have come together with the Republicans.
