Any recommedations for books with a more positive outlook or hope for the future? |

I generally love reading informative books on how government/upper class/anything with power is screwing the people financially/health-wise/environmentally, but as you would expect, it gets depressing.
Anything good out there with a positive message? Maybe offering a good way to handle any of the depressing crap? It's good to get pissed off but not to the point of feeling hopeless.

OK, I know it doesn't paint an entirely rosy picture about the world today and the foreseeable future, but for me it was a very good read. Knowing that we're in a cycle, which has repeated, and which will eventually end, was very therapeutic.

I haven't read this book, but it's gotten some pretty good recommendations. Here is a link: < http://www.oup.com/us/catalog/general/subject/Psychology/Social/?view=usa&ci=9780195380354>
