as to what is going on? I just couldn't make much sense of it. Are they now living in two different times? I'm Lost.

I've never seen an episode of LOST, but Blue Crush is one of my favorite movies...and then I find out that's her in Avatar. Mmmmm.

3. If You Haven't Seen Every Episode, Don't Bother |
|
Those of us who are addicted to this show like a drug get sick to death of having people who watch an episode here and there asking us, "What's going on?"
This show is a perfect illustration of what is wrong in America today. People need to have everything spoon-fed to them. Every question has to have an answer. Everything has to be wrapped up in a pretty little bow. If there are loose ends, we just go all to pieces (see the uproar caused the ending of "The Sopranos"). Those of us who love the show know that part of the reason WHY the show is so addictive is BECAUSE there are so many questions. See, you actually get to do a little thinking ON YOUR OWN!!! (I know, GASP!!!, right?) The speculation as to what is going on is half the fun. And you don't even need to agonize over the questions because by the time the show is over, you're gonna have your precious answers.
So please, for the love of Jumpin' Jehosaphat, PLEASE stop asking, "What's going awwwwwwwwnnnnnnnn?" and just enjoy the ride.

part of the attraction. The brilliance of the writing is letting anything happen and still keep it plausible, at least within the parameters of the Lost reality. Lost virgins, even with the catch-up first hour, will be hard-pressed to completely (yeah, like we can) understand. It's the voyage, not the destination. We Losties are hooked, and damn proud of it.

You are so right about it being about the voyage and not the destination.

What two likely scenarios would happen after the hydro bomb?
Faraday's thesis works. Faraday's thesis is wrong.
One of these two outcomes can be the narrative of the story, leaving us deprived of what could happen in the other reality... so they gave us both. Will they intersect? Who knows, and that's part of the fun.
You are just one version of you. There are billions of yous in other parallel universes. See a dozen Star Trek episodes, or a couple from Stargate SG1.
