Is the new Cameron Diaz movie anti-union propaganda?
I just saw an ad for "Bad Teacher," in which Diaz's character explained her reasons for becoming a teacher. "Summers off, and no accountability." That's dialog that could have been transcribed from Glenn Beck.

4. Yeah, I don't think too many B movie actresses earn $150 million in a 10 year period.

2. And the title is "BAD" teacher, not "stereotypical" teacher

Just saying...

If we're only going by the trailer... we should wait to see.

Plenty of professions have been mocked in Hollywood.

5. My guess is she comes around,
sees the light, and becomes a Good Teacher.

Or perhaps this won't follow the normal Hollywood pattern.

FWIW, I'm a high school teacher and I think the movie looks hilarious. So do a lot of my teacher friends.

I think it can't do any more harm than the "If one person just cares enough and works hard enough they can change every single student that comes within vision of them" movies. But that may be just me.

7. I did a little reading after your post
and it looks that way but it seems that her "badness" is counteracted by the good teachers around her and that Diaz' character is not very well liked and the good teachers are. Still don't have a problem with it as a teacher but after doing some reading will probably wait for it to come out on DVD rather than shell out for a ticket.

8. You are wrong
There are no "good teachers around her" presented in this movie at any point.

All of the teachers are portrayed negatively.

And at no point does the Cameron Diaz character become a good teacher.

In fact, she is never held accountable for any of her actions (the administrators are also shown to be morons).

9. Just saw it
It's a very funny movie, and it's not political.

Don't read too much into it.
