My First book--a biography of Actress Agnes Moorehead is out
My first book, a biography of Agnes Moorehead, best known as "Endora" on "Bewitched", but also one of Orson Welles' Mercury players and a legend on radio with "Sorry, Wrong Number" and as one of the leading character actresses in films--is out!!

The title is "I Love The Illusion: The Life and Career of Agnes Moorehead" and is available at Bear manor Media for $19.95--it is 414 pages not counting the index, and features many pictures.

Here is a link:

1. That's wonderful news, WI_DEM! Congratulations!
:yourock:

Someone on one of my listserves, a classic film group, was asking about a Moorehead bio, and I shared the link on Amazon...I'll send this one, as well.

5. Thank you
It was a lot of fun to research. She was a complicated lady--but then all great artists are.

3. Congrats!
First book. Wow. That's even better than first marriage and almost up there with first child.

Moorehead comes across as deliciously evil on the screen. Just a guess, but was she actually a really nice person?

:applause:

8. Yes
She could be very dramatic--the title, "I love the Illusion!" is something she said when she was asked about acting--and she said it in a very dramatic way with outstretched arms. She had many very human emotions but overall she came off to me as a good person who tried to do the best she could. But her life was consumed by her passion which was acting and it was always ahead of anything else including her husbands and her foster child.

9. yes
"The Invaders" one of the classics. She was very proud of that and used to screen it at her acting school as an example of performing in pantomime.

13. As a fellow author
Let me clue you into the most important sentence you need to know.

If a friend asks for a free copy, tell them, "real friends BUY the book."
