CD Sale...Satirical Political Punk Rock...
Edited on Sat Aug-20-11 02:43 PM by GReedDiamond
...from Benedict Arnold & The Traitors.

DU Special - 22 song CD, just $5.99 to members of Democratic Underground (regular price, $9.99), with free shipping within the United States.

Originally formed in late 1979, and active in the Southern California punk scene through 1982, the band reunited before the
Presidential election of 2000, and played outside of the Democratic National Convention in Los Angeles.

Between 2001 and 2008, the Traitors recorded this 22 song CD, which was released in August 2008.

The cover art was done by Los Angeles based artist Jaime GERMS Zacarias.

The band, now on long-term hiatus, still occasionally records and releases songs through their official web site, the last being "James O'Keefe The Third."

Here are some reviews of Star Spangled Bummer from CDBaby.com:

Benedict Arnold & The Traitors really bring down the house with this record. Fun punk rifts bring me back to my college days, whether you agree with the politics or not, this is the album for any punk fan!

Love the Sound!

This record reminds me of the classic punk sounds of the Dead Kennedys and frontman Jello Biafra. Great stuff. AJ Marik is incredible on guitar, I definitely got my money's worth, A++.

Wow!

Received your album in the mail yesterday and have listened to it 3 times now. What a great disc with cool variety and a message. I agree with the point it was putting forth on our current administration completely. Music wise, it had it all. Very well performed, produced and impressive. My favorites were the cover of "Let It All Hang Out", "L.A.P.D.", "72 Virgins", "Hell to the Chief" and "We Didn't Put Out the Fire". As for "We Didn't Put Out the Fire", it was a fitting tune to end the disc. It was very clever, original, and the guitar tone, playing style was excellent, well done and the stand out of the album in my mind. It was as good or better then anything I'm hearing on the air waves these days.
