Four ways 9/11 changed America's attitude toward religion
http://religion.blogs.cnn.com/2011/09/03/four-ways-911-changed-americas-attitude-toward-religion/

In a nutshell,

1: A chosen nation becomes a humbled one.

2: The re-emergence of "Christo-Americanism."

3: Interfaith becomes cool.

4: Atheists come out of the closet.

1. hmmm
1 - Obviously needs to be "chosen" but otherwise valid - that whole "special protection" thing is less common these days.

2 - Don't think it ever went away after the 50s, but certainly got worse

3 - Not sure I buy this one

4 - It helped - but not sure it really made a huge difference - the wave was coming anyway.

2. According to the Bible there is only one chosen nation
and it is not in North America

So many gods to chose from in the Christo religion ........ which one will rule??

Always inter-faith ......... so much fighting between the faiths now

And if atheists are coming out it is because they are being pushed
by the christian fundies

3. 5. Anti-Islamic prejudice became far more widespread and accepted.
That is the MAIN change I've seen in America's religious attitudes.
