Fla. Lt. Gov. Denounces (fake) Attack on Christians
They want mobocratic rule.

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) Florida Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll gave a fiery speech Thursday where she denounced what she called an attack on Christians, largely waged by the media, that she said is under way in the nation.

"Today unfortunately many in the media would like nothing better than to ridicule Christians," Carroll said at the Faith and Freedom Coalition rally. "They promote The Da Vinci code, they place doubt in the public's mind that Christ was not risen, and they condemn the passion of Christ."

<snip>

"These are very sad times when we allow the minority to poison the minds of the majority," Carroll said and then added: "This is exactly what dictators and socialist rulers did."

<snip>

Howard Simon, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union, said Carroll is free to follow any religion she wants. But he said she and other politicians want to force their religious beliefs on others in the state.

2. She is in violation of the seperation of church and state
and if she used tax dollars to give her speech then she should at least reimburse the state

4. Why should religion be an issue when she is an elected official.
If she has a problem with it then she should resign and spend more time supporting it in an unelected official capacity.

6. No need to worry.
Liberal Christians tell me these folks are a tiny minority, with no political power.

7. She named one of her children after a candy. What a dolt.
Carroll is married to Nolan Carroll of Miami and they have three children, Nolan II, Nyckie and Necho.

Oh, sorry, that's NECCO wafers, isn't it?

10. What an idiot
And how exactly do you 'condemn' the passion of Christ? Some people may not believe in it, but 'condemn' it? Or is she referring to the Mel Gibson film?

In any case, she should be governor for ALL her state's citizens, not just the Christians. I wonder how the significant Jewish population in Florida feel about her comments?

In any case, she's a politician, not a vicar; and should IMO be devoting more of her attention to things like unemployment and healthcare.
