I never really bought into this Yankees are the Evil Empire thing
But after watching last night's postgame and reading the stories this morning and not seeing or hearing them give ONE OUNCE of credit to the Tigers for winning, maybe admitting there is talent there, I'm starting to change my mind. Way to be gracious, guys.

3. Maybe because of the payroll difference?
Yankees 202,689,028
Tigers 105,700,231

5. Ya think?????
Jeter's head is still spinning. I guess he backed the wrong horse way back there in Kalamazoo.

6. I'd forgotten it was A-hole who struck out against texas to end it last year....
And when Rodriguez, in a most fitting finish, went down swinging against Jose Valverde(notes), the Tigers rushed out of the dugout to rejoice on New York’s home field. Rodriguez also whiffed to end last season, in the ALCS against Texas.

7. I'd tend to blame the evil empire thing on the New York media and
to some extent ownership. Maybe player compliments/credits were offered to the Tigers but were just edited out or never reported. Ballplayers respect each other -- they know how insanely difficult it is to play the game.

The Steinbrenners, on the other hand, have more or less always acted like boorish a-holes.

9. This Yankees fan
gave credit to the Tigers on my Facebook page and on several threads here.

In case you missed it: CONGRATS to the TIGERS! Great series. They played well. Good Luck.

:) :hi:

11. You're the exception to the rule!
Series-ly, what do you think of A-Fraud? he struck out last year to end the series against Texas, this year to end it against Detroit? Coincidence? Luck of the draw? Or does it prove he just doesn't have it in tough situations?

13. A-Rod stinks.
Way overrated, way overpaid. Not clutch in tough situations. Never been a big fan.

when Boras told the world he wasn't going back to the Yankees...I screamed NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Keep him!
