10. A great story, joey. Bear with me.

My father grew up in Trenton, NJ. Played hoops at Bama. Scholarship. But he was an Irish motherfucker. Rooted for Notre Dame until his last breath. Even when they played Bama for the National Title in 77? Football. Anyway, a Field of Dreams moment. I moved to Iowa. He would visit to go to a Hawkeye game, yearly. One year, 2005, I started giving him shit on how overrated the Irish were and how they were pussies not to join the Big Ten. A fistfight almost ensued(my wife broke it up) and he left the next day without us speaking. He died a year later. I never got to take it back. I still fucking hate Notre Dame. Fuck em.

...I posted that and went to bed. Well, I went to Notre Dame, so I'm on your Dad's side. Way back when, the Big Ten wouldn't let Notre Dame join...so they had to find schools that would play them, like USC, so that's how they developed a national reputation. I say, fuck the Big Ten...the Irish don't need them.

15. Oh it goes back a long time...long before my time...really to about

the 1930's or so. Why else would the have made the train trip to Southern California way back then if they could get someone close by to play? I'd have to look up something about it...but I thought it was common knowledge. Also,a lot of schools wouldn't play a Catholic school back then. Interesting if they had joined way back then how things might have turned out. Oh well, I'll find something, but not tonight.
