I've been looking at Freelance sites and am overwhelmed -- I am |
|
not looking for writing assignments that will pay my mortgage -- but I do need extra money, even if it's a little bit at a time. I know that there are some out there with reputations of no payment. I also know I shouldn't put money into it. But that's about it... Any suggestions?

3. sorry, typing fast -- yes. |

I was a teacher, and am currently a technical writer in a software company (creating proposals, manuals and some slicks). Have opinions and can do research. I'm looking for assignments that I could do relatively quickly (hence, not looking to pay my mortgage with 1 or even 7 assignments), and not necessarily on a long-term or contract basis.

I'm not looking for a "specific" one -- but more of a listing of legitimate sites that I might be able to research a bit. My problem has been figuring out which are legitimate.

and it provided us with everything we needed to know, right down to how to contact editors and how to organize your tax info. Worth every penny.

7. there are lots of sites that have market listings |
|
www.writing-world.com www.absolutewrite.com www.fundsforwriters.com www.writingfordollars.com www.writersweekly.com
these sites also have free newsletters with markets, tips, warnings, etc.
www.writeforcash.com - they pay $10-15 for a 500-800 word article. best for info you know off the top of your head and needs no research. i've made a bunch of money from here in the past.
good luck!

this www.writeforcash.com is legit? I'm super-paranoid about websites that ask for SS and tax info.
