Any editors/proofreaders here? |
|
It was a toss-up where to post this: here, or in the Small Business forum.
I am a freelance proofreader who is mulling the idea of starting my own business. In the meantime, I came across a site called Grammatika.com, where editors and proofreaders may bid on projects after being certified by Grammatika. Membership cost is $80 a year. I think this would be a great way to transition out of my full-time job; still, I have never heard of this company and would like some references before I go any further.
Anybody have any experience with Grammatika? Again, if this is the wrong forum, I apologize.

at those types of sites (a few years ago), where people bid on projects, they seemed to be infested with wannabes who would submit extremely low bids -- way below anything a professional proofreader or editor would charge -- or even offer to work for free (to get some experience, apparently). YMMV, but I would be skeptical.
