What is with all the locked threads?

I hope it's not the beginning of a trend. Every time our voices are silenced it is another backwards step for women.

I have spent the better part of my life silent on this issue of abortion and choice even though it was and is of great importance to me. Here, I thought I had finally found a place to speak openly and freely.

It feels a bit like being told to shut up - again.

The mods lock threads for a variety of reasons. I can assure you that this is not an effort to silence anyone.
