Let's hear it for Denver and Safer-Colorado - Made Pot Lowest Priority
Edited on Thu Nov-15-07 03:08 AM by nostalgicaboutmyfutr
Adults should now be able to carry 1 oz without issue in Denver:

The Denver Post has called the election and Initiated Question 100 appears like it will be approved by voters in the Mile High City. The measure designates adult marijuana possession the city's lowest law enforcement priority and directs officials to call off arrests and prosecutions for such behavior. As of the time of this post, I-100 was up 56-44 with about 75 percent of the votes counted.

Find out more about Initiated Question 100 at www.SaferDenver.com, or read initial reports on its success at the Denver Post, the Rocky Mountain News, and the Denver ABC affiliate.

WARNING: Do not be fooled by opponents' claims that this measure cannot be implemented. In fact, in Missoula, where a similar measure was adopted last year, officials recently announced an official policy in which they will refrain from arresting adults for marijuana possession.

It's not a matter of whether city officials can do this, but a matter of whether they will. If they do not, they are officially breaking more Denver laws than any adult marijuana user.

3. $100 fine for quite a number of years...
Colorado fines only $100 for possession of up to 1 oz.....it is a misdemeanor ticket!
