3. Definitely
I don't smoke it but certainly don't think doing so should be a criminal offense. There are far more serious crimes that deserve the attention of law enforcement.

However I have not read the bill being offered and I hope that they would take measures to ensure the prevention of any large corperation gettng all the rights to grow and distrubute pot once its legal?I want the small growers protected and the large coperations prevented from monopolizing the new law for their own self interest !!

12. It wont get legalised until you can figure out a way to keep stoned drivers off the roads.
Just saying.

16. Please
If the government really cared they would develop a test to determine if you are stoned, but they would rather test what you have been doin for the last month. Get the drunk drivers off the road, they are far more dangerous, even the ones below .08, than the most stoned driver in the world. It is different than alcohol, you smoke more and it levels off and you end up driving more slowly because you know you are stoned, and they have done tests on this. Maybe if there werent bars people go to drink at and then drive away from I would give a rats ass about your asinine opinion.

17. Isn't it interesting
As somebody pointed out the other day that most municipalities require bars to have off road parking lots. Is that counter productive if you don't want people to drink and drive. Gee maybe if you made a law saying no parking within a mile of an alcohol establishment some of those drunks would never make it back to their cars or in some cases never be able to find their cars.

22. Agreed
People need to do their research on pot before they bash it. I wrote an essay for and English class on why it should be legalized, and naturally I came across some hard-hitting research. And yes, unlike being drunk, stoned people know they're stoned. And for some people, it actually INCREASES their capacity for concentration.

NPR online also had a week-long series on marijuana: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=127403401

19. if you really want to legalize cannabis
you should work on voter registration and specifically target voters under the age of 35. Those voters (34 and under) support legalization by more than 70%.

The turn out of young voters - to counter older, low-information or propagandized voters- will make the difference.

20. yes vote
Iam a child of the late sixties yearly seventies( actually born in 1957) and we know that pot is a harmless weed and that as long as you can go down to the local market and buy a gallon of vodka ,being harrased for pot is outrageous !

Somehow I think Minnesota is waaaaay behind on the pot agenda. Just a feeling.
Good thing I won't be living here for more than another year or two. Get pot legalized for me before I come back!
