Scariest words I've heard in a long time:
Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY) told MSNBC that he expects the next six months to be an unusually productive time in Congress.

Said Schumer: "My prediction: The next sixth months will be more like the lame-duck, where there was a lot of productivity, than like the previous two years, when there was a lot of dart-throwing."

2. Why would that be?
Is he saying Dems won't use the same tactics that were used against them, that they're just going to play nice with the repubs, again?

I hope I'm reading this wrong.

3. Does playing nice mean there will be compromise?
We kind of have to because we have got serious stuff coming down the pike like raising the debt ceiling. Being uncompromising may mean shutting down the Government. I think it will actually be harder to be bullheaded about what we want because the public has seen we can get things through when we compromise.

7. Makes sense, most Senators are filthy rich anyway so it's in THEIR self interest
The rich congressmen have the same ideals and self-interest as the thieves, con men, murdering CEOs, and fraudsters. Is it any wonder they won't vote for anything that would actually take a penny away from the rich?

4. Despite all the Talk to the contrary
This passed election was a huge referendum on the Republican policy of obstruction. If you play for all or nothing, you must totally destroy your competition. Having failed to take the Senate the Republicans are in an untenable position. Neither party will be seen as totally responsible for success or failure. Now is the time to strike. If we progressives can keep the spotlight on Republican servitude to the rich they will lose the next election. If they obstruct it will be obvious. There are only two types of Republicans, The rich, and those willing to be used by the rich. If we can expose their weakness they will crumble. The recent compromises in the congress is the result of thier policys failure.
