what do you think about this??? an assistant principal is in essence blackmailing a student |
|
We have an assistant principal that is trying to be the "be all end all" and is climbing over the principals back to jockey for positions.
Some of us have learned that she has a student (a known gang member) that she makes report to her weekly on the goings on of other gang members in our building. If he doesn't tell her anything, she threatens to call his PO officer
If he gets written up, she will reduce the punishment or have him serve ISS in her office with her. The last time a neighboring teacher wrote him up for blatant gang activity, she took the write up and threw it away saying he would go to JDF if the teacher followed through with it. I told the teacher that she should follow through and that maybe JDF now might save his life later.
If other students found out, he would be horribly beaten up and I really have issues with her methods.
What would you do?

1. Can you talk to the principal? |
|
If not, how about the PO?
Ask your counselor to call.

3. I would do nothing. (Veteran teacher here.) |
|
If she is this rotten to a student, imagine the hell she would put a teacher through.
Even if you went to someone you could "trust", the rumor mill would end up implicating you somehow. Just go about your business and do the best you can at what you CAN control.
That is what I would do... you, of course, have to listen to your own conscience.
