Just landed in my school email inbox.
Is the K now silent?
The death of the English language. If we had all of our other problems solved, I would have time to deal with this one. Sigh.

2. You would hope that a company making gazillions off of gullible teachers |
|
would be able to hire an editor to look over these emails before they go out.

3. I'm amazed by some of the things I see and here these days. |

Obama frequently says "me and ________". I think so many things have become acceptable these days. Don't know about the silent K, though. :7

5. OMG! That's too funny! My mother, the teacher, is rolling in |
|
her grave. I'm leaving it as a testament to my smugness! I even "proofed" it before I posted!

It's always risky to comment on that stuff. I've screwed up plenty of times while doing it.

I've written for both US and British publications. Different rules. Here, we write "a hundred." In the UK, they write "an hundred" in some publications. There are many such differences, all of which I have in my head for use when I need them. Usage depends on the use and where you're using it, it seems.
