Bush: Watch your mouth and quit picking on Al Gonzales
In Monday's edition of USA TODAY, Bush had the renewed arrogance to effectively tell the American people to shut up about the Supreme Court vacancy and quit picking on his friend Alberto Gonzales or he (Bush) will get mad.

<snip>

President Bush said Monday that special-interest groups running TV ads and mobilizing supporters for a fight over his choice of a successor to Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor should "tone down the heated rhetoric."

<snip>

"Al Gonzales is a great friend of mine," Bush said in a phone interview. "When a friend gets attacked, I don't like it."

Well, George, I would say that if you're anticipating a tantrum, you'd better get yourself a whole bottle of Valium or whatever works for you because if you think for one minute we're going to roll over on this, then you've got another big headache coming.

4. Have you looked at the OTHER candidates?
I mean, he's no moderate, but compared to the other wackjobs, this guy is liberal of the year.

7. they say he is pro-choice
because he wrote an opinion that accused Owen of holding a view of an abortion case that would have been "an unconscionable act of judicial activism."

I find it amusing that his advice on torturing prisoners or due process in texas executions was NOT judicial activism

10. frankly it won't matter
bush made it very clear, he will appoint someone of the ilk of scalia and thomas

in 2004 the people in this country did NOT believe the supreme courts was that big of an issue

what amazes me is people knew this, they had the opportunity to throw bush out, but either didn't bother to vote, or thought "security" was more important than liberty

they are about to learn a civic lesson

5. who cares what you like, chimpenator?
I don't. And really, telling the people you work for to shut up isn't that bright, but then, no one has ever accused you of being a bright boy, eh, Chimpy?
