Does anyone have hushmail or something like it?
With so many people at the DU are interested in internet privacy, I wondered if anyone here actually encrypted their email? It seems like a great idea, but it doesn't work unless the person you're sending it to does as well. Anyways just wondering if anyone had hushmail account.
(If you don't know what hushmail is, it is a free e-mail provider that encrypts e-mail similar to PGP http://www.hushmail.com/)

1. I have several encryption programs...
but I never bothered to use them and uninstalled them to get them out of the way. Just never had any need for them, and most people I know would be pissed at having to find a key.

For the truly paranoid, it seems that if you send encrypted email it would be a red flag to whoever's snooping in on the stuff.

For the even more paranoid, I'm reminded of a conversation I had with an AT&T network guy years ago. We were talking about anonymizers, and he said most of them were fronts set up by various agencies, including the FBI. I didn't know whether to believe him or not, but the very nature of anonymizers is that you don't know who's running them.

I guess if I really had a secret, I could send an encrypted attachment from a Hotmail account I set up at the library or computer cafe.
