Oklahoma Carter County Drama
Breaking News: Former Drug Task Force agent indicted by multi-county Grand Jury

Marsha Miller

Former District Attorney Drug Task Force Agent Kevin McIntire has been indicted on a charge of embezzlement.

District Judge Tom Walker opened the sealed the six-page indictment at 9 a.m. in district court. The judge announced the multi-county grand jury had indicted McIntire with failing to "account by law" for funds that had come into his possession as a task force agent and had diverted the money for his own use.

The indictment alleges the embezzlement occurred between April 2004 and February 2007. However, no mention was made of the amount of cash multi-county grand jurors allege McIntire put into his own coffers.

The former agent was in court, accompanied by his attorney, David Slane, Oklahoma City.

The state was represented by the attorney general's office.

Walker asked McIntire if he understood the charge. McIntire confirmed he did.

The judge also asked the former agent how long he had lived in Ardmore.

"All my life sir," McIntire said.

Walker released the former agent on a personal recognizance bond.

A Nov. 29 preliminary hearing date was set. However, Slane indicated he may ask Special District Judge Charles Tate, who will preside over the hearing, for a new hearing date due to conflicts in his client schedule.

McIntire left the courtroom accompanied by his attorney and family members. His next stop was the Carter County Detention Center where he was officially booked in before being released on bond.

The multi-county grand jury indictment was the result of an investigation conducted by the attorney general's office.

District Attorney Craig Ladd asked for the investigation in February after becoming aware DATF forfeiture funds had not been properly documented and submitted to his office. A month later Ladd dissolved the DATF saying his office lacked the resources to "properly supervise such an operation."

Well, I am reading this article and then looking back at other post(s) I have made. It is begining to come clear that something just is not right with Carter County. I am not sure if it the officers there or the DA and Judges but it sure looks like Carter County has a lot of drama going on. Just begs to wonder if someone will or can step in and investigate the entire DA's office and it's officers because something just doesn't add up and it is begining to stink.

Sadly enough, I grew up around there too and I am just amazed of the drama that is and has been going on there. I am interested to see the results of all the recent drama, I am curious to see if my assumptions are right and there is some sort of foul play in the DA, Judges and officers in that area. I have heard rumors before this Ladd came in that the DA's office was into some sort of foul play but rumors are just that. I have always been told never believe what you hear and only half of what you see so like I said. Too much drama ....
