Yoo who?
Edited on Mon Apr-14-08 08:08 AM by mac2
Yoo is an "expert" who appears frequently before the Judiciary Committee.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Yoo

John Yoo is a S. Korean immigrant who was given more opportunity than most American born yet he has taken a wrong turn somewhere along the way. Did his rise of power and elite education make him arrogant and anti-democratic? Or Clarence Thomas show him the way? The frat club of Neo Cons.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Federalist_Society (elite university members are all Neo Cons).

"The Society "is founded on the principles that the state exists to preserve freedom, that the separation of governmental powers is central to our Constitution, and that it is emphatically the province and duty of the judiciary to say what the law is, not what it should be."<1>"

What they mean is the courts make laws (Executive Branch) not the Congress (Legislative Branch). Which violates our Constitution and the duties of the Courts. The courts are mostly appointed so they don't get to make laws.

"We are used to a peacetime system in which Congress enacts the laws, the president enforces them, and the courts interpret them. In wartime, the gravity shifts to the executive branch.<13>"

Ya and going to "war" justifies destroying our democracy? News for Bush and Yoo. The Congress has not declared war. Nor did Iraq attack us.

Yoo is a member of the Federalist Society. How dare this Bush lawyer group use Madison as their figure head. If anything they are anti-Madison. Madison who wrote most the Bill of Rights or our Constitution would never have been ratified in the states to form a union.

Yoo helped write the Patriot Act and supports Bush Executive Privilege (being King).
