Internment of Japanese civilians during WWII

We had German POWs in places like El Reno, Oklahoma; did all of them kill American soldiers? Weren't they defined as conspiring or actively engaged in hostile acts against the United States? The guilt or innocence of the Gitmo detainees is a figment of the imagination of whoever has the luxury of defining their status. If our own founding documents are to be believed, all men are created equal and granted inalienable rights by their Creator. By our own definition, we shouldn't have even been there.
