A a majority of legal residents and naturalized hispanic citizens are in favor of the Arizona law. Much of my family lives in Phoenix and the typical legal hispanic citizen has less of a problem proving legal status than they do with the enormous problems illegal immigrants cause in border states. They are concerned about money for schools and services, and illegal immigrants are a big drain on the resources they pay for and worked to become legal for.
I am not saying its right or wrong, but one person I talked to put it this way, "It's like a baseball player who doesn't use steriods voting to protect the players who do." They may vote for it, but they do not like it.
