Funny how the police say we should submit to searches if we have "nothing to hide" but they want to put people in jail for filming/recording them on the job. http://reason.com/archives/2010/08/09/police-officers-dont-check-the

1. Always been a double standard ! |
|
The police in the town I live for the most part are very friendly. However there are a few exceptions and they make all the nicer cops look bad with the way they talk down to every citizen they come in contact with.I believe the police should do the same kind of stings they pull on non police ctizens. For instance they should have a under cover from internial affairs create a small incident with an officer, to see how the officer handles the situation. The patroll officers in my town starting pay is $6-7,000 per month ! This is a very low crime area with miles of mansions in private country club set up, they all have their own security. When I was growing up the police was condisered a civil service job and the pay was middle income, however they always had good benifits and retirement, Now they have the best of both worlds a high paying job with still great benifits. I know one officer who started with the department in his early twenties was able to retire at 50 years old with a full pension . NikRik

2. Always have a camera in your car. |

It's always a good idea to have a camera in your car to record any police encounter. This video shows a man who declines to cooperate at a police checkpoint. The camera contributes to the police backing down. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIupHbRTpb8
