An FEI Quanta SEM electron microscope revealed a hydrothermal worm that seems monstrous when zoomed in 525 times.

These worms, among the smallest living things in the world, are deep sea creatures and almost as small as bacterium. They are largely found near hydrothermal vents in the ocean.

Hydrothermal vents are found near volcanically active places.

Philippe Crassous shot the image of the worm using FEI's microscope.

Scientists discovered the first multicellular life in the deep subsurface biosphere in May and reported their finding in the journal Nature.
