Poverty One-Liners ..... please contribute.. ^_^
Edited on Tue Apr-08-08 08:11 PM by bobbolink
I was hooked by Crescent City Kid's one-liners, and have seen so many really brilliant ones at DU, so I thought it would be good to keep a thread of 'em.... never know when a pithy one-liner could come in handy. :) Please add your own brilliance. :)

"We are a part of the capitalistic system only in the way that the deer is part of the hunt."
(edit: pardon my adding the word "capitalistic" -- it was in earlier sentence, but needed for the quotation.)

"The only thing not on the market is a fix for poverty. "
Cresent City Kid

Jesus never demanded proof of health insurance.

1. I thought you were looking more for things along the line of
"Yo mama's so poor, she can't even afford to pay attention."

4. This is way too lame, but it's original
In what animal family is a fat cat?

Elephant.

(That was so bad I should have my DU membership revoked. I also should've been able to work in 'shark' and 'predator' with an animal 'joke'. )

5. You're definitely on the right track! Sometimes it's good to post ideas, cuz it may very well
spark someone else...

Your shark and predator, for example.. some DUer will pounce on that one. (very punny, bobbolink...)

I really like the two quotes in your sigline! Tonight, I'm really appreciating the St. Francis one.. :)

Thanks!

7. You're very welcome
and you're also very gracious!

I'm still thinking something like the GOP... being an... endangered... species, er, party... or something...

9. Very good!
For some, it means giving up expectations for Lent... and not picking them up again, eh?

:(
