What's the best fakin bacon?
The GD thread made me want to ask. I'm not much for the soy analogs 'cuz soy tends to be gas inducing for me. I do like the barbecue rib version once in a while. Before I go out and spend money on the bacon analog, I thought I'd come here and get folks' opinion, because now I'm craving an avocado and fake bacon sandwich.
Thank you!

1. The best will have soy in them.
But if you're looking for something less processed, you can make your own fake bacon by thinly slicing and frying up strips of tempeh. Add a little soy sauce and sweetener during the last minute of frying for a nice bacony taste.

3. Smart Bacon from Light Life may be addicting and life changing.
It's ruined many a "I'll just have a nice salad" evening for me.

4. Thanks! I was just eyeing that last night at the Sprouts grocery store
wondering if it was worth the risk. I'll pick some up next trip on your say so. Just follow the directions or any special cooking tips?

5. I bake it, naked, on a cookie sheet.
But I watch it very, very closely. The difference between limpy bacon and burnt bacon is like, maybe 2 minutes.

7. Frontier Bacums is my new favorite fakin bacon
I toss it on salads, or baked potatoes. I even put some on some fettuccine alfredo the other night.
Yummy!

8. My favorite is Morningstar.
