Help Help HELP - Word/Print/page formating question |
|
Edited on Tue Jun-14-05 12:12 PM by AmandaRuth
I am doing a mailing for my Dem group - I need help formating my document to print landscape style - with 4 postcards (which I will later cut apart) - I have one document with the 4 postcards in in, but I don't see where you format it to print the way I want to.
Don't laugh - I got the data merge manager to work with about 450 names, I just can't the figure the formating thing. Help - I promised these things would go in the mail yesterday. Mucho thanks
oh - I have a new G5 (Va-room!) and am using Microsoft 2004 office for mac

Go to File -> Page Setup, and select the horizontal (landscape) icon and compose your postcard. Then when it's time to print, select "Layout" from the dropdown menu (Copies & Pages is the first in that menu) and then pick 4 Pages per Sheet.

I called the Microsoft word tech help line, and they told me (after a half hour wait, while Microsoft techy looked it up in the "lab") that the only way to get 4 postcards in a landscape was to use the labels template. Which was a nightmare and impossible to format in a way that was easy to read. And not true to boot.
So half my documents were done as big labels, which look terrible and half were done the way you suggested and look just fine. Oh well, at least now I know. Think I should call Microsoft back and let them know how to use their own product?
Thanks again.
