Can you password protect files? |
|
I can password protect documents but there does not seem to be anyway to password protect files.

Our computers are shared. My diaries are password protected but I would like to have them in a passwod protected folder. This should work for me since I only have one diary going at a time, but it seems like a deficiency that they dont include a password protection option for actively updated folders.
thanks

3. You can create AES-encrypted, read/write enabled disk images |
|
Then all you have to do is mount them on your desktop when you want to add or subtract from the contents of it, then dismount it when you're done. You can't get much more secure than 128-bit AES encryption on a personal desktop computer, and they are very convenient.
Just use Disk Utility to make a new blank disk image, and select AES for encryption in the ensuing dialog.
