Best Cinnamon Buns Ever
I happened to catch an episode of Cooks Country over the weekend in which they made these Ultimate Cinnamon Buns, and decided that I needed to try them. Since I can't subscribe to ALL of Cooks Illustrated's offerings, I thought I'd try searching the web to see if I could find it - and yes! I did find it.

Gotta say, these are THE BEST cinnamon rolls/buns I've ever had - so rich that even _I_ (the queen of butter and sweet) might cut back on the amount of butter! :wow:

What are your favorite cinnamon rolls/bun?

1. Those look amazing!
I haven't made them since Home Ec class.

What a shame!

I would weigh twice of me, for sure. Good stuff!

3. I'll have to try that one
The bread recipes are similar, with the CC version having a little less sugar, a bit more butter and an extra egg, but the cinnamon filling of the one you posted is more prodigious. Plus it's from the Oregonian, so definitely worth a try!

Thank you!

Good to see you! Haven't seen much of you around these parts lately. Hope you're enjoying your summer.

6. Hi housewolf!
What summer? The weather has sucked. Today looks nice, but sheesh....

The recipe was reprinted in the Oregonian several times & made their Top 10 list, plus it was reprinted in a cookbook - I can't think of the name, but it's an annual compilation of 150 or so best recipes of the year.

:loveya:

7. Agreed - What summer????? But I have black raspberries, hooray, hooray!
Great way to put it! I had the heat on at night until about 2 weeks ago or so! Thought I'd forgotten what a sunny day was like.

But today, I stopped by my local produce stand and was thrilled to pieces to find black cap raspberries! I grew up in the Ohio and they were always my favorite - you could get them around the 4th of July but that was all. I haven't had fresh ones for - oh, I don't know how many years I've longed for them! Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw them. One of my best childhood memories is of black raspberry pie from the Tremont Bakery. Marionberries make a pretty good substitute, but not quite the same thing. So I have enough for a pie (I think/hope) along with some tiny sweet Hood River strawberres, so for today, life is good! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Here's to you

4. Video: Technique for Working Sweet Dough
Sweet dough is fun to play with, it doesn't take a lot of kneading, and taking out your aggressions out on it only helps.

5. This is the recipe I use and it's really good. I cut back a little on the amount
of sugar in the filling because it stays "grainy". Using brown sugar might help with that.
