So I ordered some fancy little cookie decorations from a
reputable company; snowflakes, lightbulbs penguins etc. and the ingredient list includes sodium laurel sulfate.

:wtf:

Isn't that stuff in shampoo?

:(

2. I guess if I brush my teeth with it, it's ok just this once.

I hate buying stuff on-line and then finding out it's got weird shit in it! I noticed some sites are now allowing you to see a list of ingredients.

4. That makes sense, it's a foaming agent
that makes soaps and shampoos suds up.

3. So?
They use paraffin in chocolate to increase the melting temperature in some candies.

The colon gets rid of any non poisonous inedibles.

5. I guess my first thought was to wonder if they'd taste like soap.

6. I think so.
And I wouldn't want to eat it. It's one of the big environmental offenders in shampoo and why I stopped using it.

Sorry, hedgehog.

8. I always heard that when it's used in shampoo, it's very harsh on the hair.
Never heard that it's hard on the environment, too.

What's really a hoot - you can check most brands of shampoo from the cheapest to the most expensive, and you'll find this and water as the main ingredients. I had to hike over to the organic foods section to find a shampoo without it.

9. I just wet my hair and
use conditioner. I do buy a milder, more natural conditioner. No shampoo. If I do get the urge to use shampoo, I have an all natural goats milk shampoo bar from one of the producers in our coop.
