I'm more interested in researching savory recipes...but this looked yummy. I'm allergic to peanuts...but cashew butter would be a nice sub!

1. Chicken and Cheese Plait!!!
I'm sure this is pretty plain stuff for all you foodies.... but I just *love* this dish!!!

Chicken & Cheese Plait

1 lb raw chicken, diced
1 small red bell pepper, seeded and chopped
4 oz mushrooms, chopped
2 Tbl grated Parmesan cheese
2 oz grated cheddar cheese
salt & pepper
1 level tsp dried thyme
14oz puff pastry, thawed
beaten egg to glaze

Preheat oven to 425

Combine the diced chicken, bell pepper, mushrooms and cheese. Season with salt, pepper and thyme.

Roll out pastry on a lightly floured surface to a 12 inch square. Place chicken mixture evenly down the center, leaving a 1 inch margin at top and bottom and 3 or 4 inches on both sides.

Using a sharp knife, make 11 or 12 diagonal cuts through the pastry on each side of the filling. Lightly brush the pastry edge and strips with water.

Fold the top and bottom ends up over the filling and then cover the filling with alternate strips of pastry from each side to make a plait.

Carefully transfer to a lightly greased baking sheet and glaze thoroughly with beaten egg.

Coook in hot oven for 20 min. then reduce the temp to 350 and continue cooking for 30 to 40 minutes until golden brown and crisp.

Serve hot or cold in slices.

2. Love both the flavors and the idea. Simple and elegant.

5. Maybe Nutella? With the chocolate, too since Nutella is not that chocolatey
I'd probably skip the Nutella and peanut butter and just spread marshmallow creme on the inside. Then all the gooey goodness of a smore would be all wrapped in puff pastry!

7. Nutella is OK but it does not have enough chocolate in it
And I am so-so on hazelnuts. I bought one small jar to try and it is still here after a year. I guess I need to find a use for it. Maybe I should buy some puff pastry, Hershey bars, graham crackers and marshmallow creme.
