IS there anything better than a steaming new potato? I doubt it. Not to be confused with small potatoes or little boiling potatoes (which, don’t get me wrong, are wonderful), real new potatoes are freshly dug, perishable and heavenly. They’re showing up now at farmers’ markets, probably the best place to find them unless you have a gardener friend willing to share.

I just love new potatoes - even though the recent news says potatoes are bad for us. Potatoes are a good food source of vitamins and minerals. But, deep-frying them into fries and chips is the problem apparently.
